BOONES MILL, Va. — Franklin County Board of Supervisors member Mike Meredith says he is staying in office, reversing an announcement two weeks ago that he was resigning.
Meredith posted on Facebook at 8 a.m. Wednesday saying he plans to remain on the board. He said his August 18 resignation statement was made “under duress” and that he never submitted anything in writing. He argues that under Virginia law, his seat was never actually vacant.
