SALEM, Va. (WFXR) – Bob Rotanz owned Mac and Bob’s in Salem for 45 years. He considered himself the oddball out, as he came from a family of first responders.
That included his older brother, Richard Rotanz Jr. (Rich), who served in the New York City Fire Department before becoming the deputy director of emergency management.
“He would have sessions where they would meet with the New York City Police; they would meet with the FBI and the transit authority for what-if scenarios,” Rotanz said. “What if something happens, like a fire here or a terrorist attack here.”…
