CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. – Appalachian Power is asking for public input on the Opossum Creek-Smith Mountain Transmission Line Rebuild Project.
The project will see an upgrade to the transmission system in Bedford and Campbell counties. It would involve the rebuilding of around 30 miles of transmission line and the upgrade of five regional substations. APCo has requested public comment on route options for the rebuild.
“The Opossum Creek-Smith Mountain project will replace aging transmission infrastructure to increase electric reliability for customers in Bedford, Campbell and surrounding areas.
