ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – A new report shows the Roanoke and New River Valley region needs more than 3,000 registered nurses to meet community demand, according to Claude Moore Opportunities.
The report lists the top three occupations needed in the region as registered nurses, social and human service assistants, and licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses. The region needs 3,308 registered nurses, 963 social and human service assistants, and 625 licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses.
