Wasena Bridge nearly complete, city hopes to reopen it by the fall

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Wasena Bridge Replacement Project manager Josephus Johnson-Koroma said the new Wasena Bridge is 95 percent complete.

The enitre bridge deck is now finished, reconnecting Roanoke to the Wasena neighborhood. The city also completed installing a 12-inch water line running just under the bridge, which is now in service.

Most of the remaining work is in the area around the bridge. That includes finishing up the sidewalks and curbs on the Wasena side of the bridge and working on the roundabout on the upper side of the bridge…
