Rocky Mount community in search of funding to ensure reliable EMS access

ROCKY MOUNT, Va. – For more than six decades, residents of Rocky Mount’s Diamond Avenue community have faced a persistent safety concern: There is only one way in and one way out.

Residents say the community’s single access point can become blocked when trains stop at a nearby railroad crossing, potentially preventing residents and emergency vehicles from getting through.
