ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Protesters rallied outside the Roanoke City municipal building Monday night before speaking in front of city council during its evening meeting to voice opposition to a recent purchase agreement involving land at the Wood Haven Technology Park in Roanoke County, which Roanoke City holds an ownership stake in.
The agreement was approved by a vote of the Western Virginia Regional Industrial Facility Authority in September.
Delaware-based Clearview Dynamics LLC is the reported buyer of the land, and though the Industrial Facility Authority says it “cannot confirm the prospective use of the property,” there has been public speculation that a portion of the site could be sold to a data center developer…
