Virginia Tech football coach James Franklin has been on a recruiting heater the last couple of weeks. After beginning to build on the defensive side of the ball, mainly along the defensive line for new coach Sean Spencer, the Hokies’ first-year coach was striking it big on the offensive side of the ball for new offensive coordinator Ty Howle.
Over the last couple of weeks, Virginia Tech has added two running backs, a tight end, and two wide receivers, including one over the weekend. Virginia Tech was able to flip Class of 2027 WR Demarcus Brown from Virginia to Virginia Tech. Of course, Cavaliers fans poo-pooed the flip, but if the roles were reversed, then it would have been major breaking news. Stay consistent, Little Brother.
Anyway, eventually, Franklin and offensive line coach Matt Moore will land some players in the trenches in the Class of 2027, but it won’t be landing a big fish from the Commonwealth.
