ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Local lawmakers have not budged on their opposition to the idea of a casino in Roanoke.
Late last year, city leaders proposed building an entertainment district around the Berglund Center. The idea included hotels, parking, restaurants, and a casino.
The city received thousands of dollars and signed a non-disclosure agreement with a casino operator, but the company’s name was never disclosed. The city also hired a lobbying firm, paying it thousands of dollars in an attempt to get lawmakers on board…
