FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – The Franklin County School Board heard public comment Monday for the first time since the district eliminated its family liaison positions, a move parents and liaisons said could leave vulnerable students without critical support.
Several family liaisons spoke about the work they do in schools and the impact they believe the cuts will have on students and families.
“In this role, I’ve been hit, kicked, scratched, pinched, punched, had pencils, scissors, chairs, and other objects thrown at me. But none of that has hurt as much as hearing that this position and the work we do for children could be seen as expendable.”…
