ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Rochester bar became Lux Lounge for a night Friday, with staff and supporters raising money after a fire temporarily closed the popular South Wedge spot.
Jack’s Extra Fancy on Atlantic Avenue in North Winton Village hosted the fundraiser to support Lux Lounge employees and the bar’s rebuilding efforts. The event brought Lux staff behind the bar for guest bartending shifts and featured drinks Lux is known for, including Rumple Minze, Pap Smears and cheeseburger shots.
Lux was badly damaged by a fire earlier this week. The fire broke out early Monday morning on the top floor of the building and caused significant damage to the bar area below. The fire is believed to be accidental, though investigators are still working to determine a cause…
