Consumer Investigation: 5 of the worst-rated nursing homes in Monroe County overdue for state inspections

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Years of poor care led to the closing of one troubled nursing home, but critics say it’s not the only one.

As News10NBC’s Deanna Dewberry explained in her investigation last week, advocates say the Department of Health is partly to blame. They say the department provides poor oversight.

The Department of Health is responsible for inspecting nursing homes. Dewberry combed through public data provided by the department showing the frequency of those inspections. What she found was truly shocking.
