Seneca County asking for disaster assistance from the state following Wednesday’s storms

SENECA COUNTY, N.Y. — The Seneca County Board of Supervisors is asking Governor Kathy Hochul to declare a State Disaster Emergency that includes Seneca County after Wednesday’s severe storms.

Wednesday’s storms caused widespread power outages, downed trees and power lines, and other damage across the Rochester region. As of Friday morning, over 2,000 NYSEG customers in Seneca County are still without power.
