FAIRPORT, N.Y. — State police arrested a man accused of stealing more than $800,000 from school district health care accounts.
Zacchary Weber ran Health Economics Partners in Fairport. He was supposed to pay dental bills with money teachers paid into a fund, but state police say audits of Sodus and North Rose-Wolcott school districts and a school district south of Buffalo in Chautauqua County show $810,695.55 missing.
Here’s how the missing money breaks down:
- Sodus Central School District: $377,757.75
- North Rose-Wolcott Central School District: $181,817.94
- Bemus Point Central School District: $251,119.86
“The investigation determined that funds were allegedly transferred without authorization from accounts belonging to the Sodus Central School District and North Rose-Wolcott Central School District in Wayne County and the Bemus Point Central School District in Chautauqua County to accounts controlled by HEP,” state police wrote in a news release Saturday…
