ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Overdose deaths in Monroe County declined for the second consecutive year, according to a new report from the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Over the last year, overdose deaths decreased by 17%, while opioid-related deaths fell by 38%.

The report also found that most overdose deaths involved more than one substance. Cocaine was involved in four out of every five overdose deaths reported in the county.
