GREECE, N.Y. — Two 16-year-old boys are facing charges after police say they stole a car at gunpoint in Rochester, then crashed it into an unoccupied business in Greece.
Carjacking in Rochester
Rochester Police say at around 8:30 p.m. Monday, they got a report of a robbery on Jay Street. The victim told police he was sitting in the passenger seat of a car when two boys came up to him with handguns, demanding the car.
The teens were able to steal the car, and fled. Police say the victim wasn’t hurt.
Chase and crash in Greece
Later that night, an officer with the Greece Police Department was patrolling the area of Dewey Avenue and Stone Road, when they say they saw a driver violating state traffic laws. Police say the driver didn’t stop, which initiated a chase.
Police say due to the actions of the driver, the chase was terminated. Later on, police say they learned it was the same car stolen in Rochester…
