ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Monroe County Executive Adam Bello is asking for another $14 million for a project to expand Seneca Park Zoo.
In a letter, he asked the County Legislature to increase the project’s bonding authorization from $102.9 million to $116.9 million because of “current market conditions” for construction. The letter comes months after Bello spoke about the zoo expansion plan, which includes a new entrance and a tropics complex for orangutans, lemurs, and other tropical animals.
The letter breaks down the costs in five categories: general construction, plumbing, mechanical. electrical, and site work.
