Honeoye Falls proposal for 200 homes, 37 townhomes, and 170 apartments draws concerns

HONEOYE FALLS, N.Y. — Some residents in Honeoye Falls are pushing back against a proposed housing development that could bring hundreds of new people to the village.

The village is considering a project that would add 200 single-family homes, 37 townhomes and 170 apartment units to a community with a population of just under 3,000 people. It could increase the village’s population by 30% to 40%.

News10NBC’s Tom Kowalski reported that many residents are worried about the impact on infrastructure, population and the character of the village.

“We’re concerned about it because of the traffic congestion that it threatens to have on the community, the environmental impact on the community, the safety concerns in the community, the weight and demands that will come on our ambulance and fire services,” Jim Myers said…
