Rockford man sentenced to 14 years for drug trafficking and gun possession

ROCKFORD, Ill (WTVO) — A Rockford man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for drug trafficking and illegally possessing a firearm Thursday, May 21.

According to officials, 40-year-old Rishawn Jones admitted in a plea agreement that he possessed multiple controlled substances, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, in May 2024, in various locations, including his vehicle and storage unit.

Investigators said a 9 millimeter pistol was found in the storage unit. Prosecutors determined Jones committed these offenses while on supervised release following a previous prison sentence…
