Sinnissippi Audubon Society wants to replace mural after demolition

ROCKFORD — The Sinnissippi Audubon Society wants to recreate a mural that included the city’s official bird after it was torn down last week as part of a hospital expansion plan.

“Dodge” and “Chase” was a dual-sided mural featuring a peregrine falcon and several songbirds that covered the brick exterior of a vacant building at 1238 E. State St., across from UW Health SwedishAmerican Hospital. That building is one of four that are being demolished on the north side of State Street across from the hospital as UW Health cleared room for unspecified future growth…
