ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The spill of an industrial chemical prompted a hazmat response on Thursday night.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m., first responders with the Rockford Fire Department were called to Skyline Drive, off N. Alpine and near Alpine Park.
The fire department said evacuations were not necessary at the time, but asked residents to allow emergency personnel room to work.
According to Rockford Fire, the material that was released was WaterSOLV BC, a peroxide-based cleaning and water treatment solution. Skyline Drive is home to Rockford Public Well 13, one of the city’s municipal groundwater wells…
