Midwest Women Riders’ event in Rockford aims to break world record

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Midwest’s largest women-only motorcycle event, the Midwest Women Riders’ annual “Get Your Groove On” weekend, began today in Rockford at the Hard Rock Casino Rockford.

The “Get Your Groove On” weekend offers workshops, guest speakers and vendors, all aimed at empowering female riders and improving their skills.

Michelle Jamison, who owns Bandanas by Michelle, a company based in Minnesota, is one of the vendors at the event. Jamison shared her personal experience with motorcycling, emphasizing the community and freedom it provides. “I had boyfriends that I dated, and I enjoyed riding behind them. But then I wanted to get rid of the guy, and I still enjoyed riding. So, I got my license, and riding is just a great way to build other friendships and just get out, and it’s, I want to say it’s like going to church.”…
