Machesney Park sets new rules for door-to-door solicitors

MACHESNEY PARK, Ill. (WIFR) – The Village of Machesney Park has adopted a new ordinance to protect its residents from unwanted and unpermitted solicitation.

Now, all permitted door-to-door solicitors are required to wear a “high-visibility vest” when conducting business in the village.

The vests include a window to display badge identification and an expiration date of a valid permit. Solicitors are also given the most recent copy of the Do Not Knock registry for the village…
