ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A man was robbed and assaulted by three armed men, who threw him in the Rock River before stealing his car, later crashing it before being apprehended by police.
According to the arrest report, on June 13, the victim told Rockford Police he had met a woman online, and she had agreed to go on a date with him. After picking her up in his black Dodge Charger, he drove downtown and parked in the lot of 220 N. Water Street. The couple got out of the car near the Rock River, the victim reported.
It was then that three men approached from behind, all three armed with handguns and demanding the victim’s keys, wallet, and watch.
