Generac Acquires Illinois Facility To Expand Large-Megawatt Generator Capacity Amid Rising Data Center Demand

Generac Holdings announced the acquisition of a new manufacturing facility in Belvidere, Illinois, as the company continues to expand its capacity for large-megawatt generator packaging in response to growing demand from data centers and other mission-critical industries.

The new site will significantly increase Generac’s ability to assemble generator enclosures and package completed systems for shipment. The facility builds on capabilities gained through the company’s acquisition of Enercon Engineering earlier this year, which added specialized expertise in generator enclosure manufacturing.

According to Generac, the Belvidere facility will complement Enercon’s existing operations by increasing enclosure assembly and final packaging capacity for large-scale generator systems.
