ROCKFORD — An industrial park developer who has brought several major companies to the area says its latest project could bring hundreds of jobs to the city’s southern edge near the county line.
Venture One Real Estate is asking the city to rezone land along Edson Road near Gensler Gardens from agricultural to I-3 industrial use for a roughly 166-acre business park. If that switch is approved, the Rosemont-based developer plans to work with Karen Walsh of CBRE to recruit industrial users who would benefit from the nearby rail line, highway system and proximity to the Chicago-Rockford International Airport…
