Rockford seeks donations to fund Fourth of July fireworks display

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — City officials are asking residents to help fund this year’s Fourth of July fireworks celebration as organizers work to reach a $100,000 fundraising goal.

In a social media announcement, the city said the volunteer-led Rockford 4th of July Civic Committee is closing in on its target but still needs community support to make the annual display possible.

To encourage donations, the city is offering a Swarovski crystal American flag pin to anyone who makes a suggested $15 contribution. The pins were donated by a local resident, and all proceeds will go directly to the civic committee to support the fireworks show…
