ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – For the first time this decade, deaths tied to domestic violence could be dropping.
The Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence released its 2025 Homicide Report Wednesday. Its research found a 26% decline in fatalities between 2024 and 2025.
Two years ago saw 137 total reported deaths related to the crime; last year experienced 72 incidents which resulted in 101 fatalities — those included 83 homicides and 18 perpetrator suicides…
