Old Settlers Days festival kicks off in Rockton, Illinois

ROCKTON, Ill. (WTVO) – Old Settlers Days, the largest fundraiser for the Rockton Lions Club, began Thursday as a four-day festival offering carnival rides, food, a beer tent and a music stage.

The event aims to unite the community while supporting the Rockton Lions Club’s mission to serve. Jonathan “Twwinky” Sutherland, an event promoter for Old Settlers Days, highlighted the festival’s broad community impact.

“In so many different ways, the festival impacts the community, whether it be the food drive, or the Center for Sight and Hearing, of the Boys and Girls Club, or the Hononegah Robotics Team, there’s so many different levels and layers that we impact, whether it’s small clubs to big clubs,” Sutherland said.
