‘Tragic and unexpected’: GoFundMe started for family of fatal Harrison Ave. crash victim

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The family of 22-year-old Drevin Tavernie, the victim of a fatal Rockford crash, has started a fundraiser to help cover funeral and memorial costs as they mourn their loss.

The GoFundMe was started by a family member on behalf of Tavernie’s parents, Rhonda and Richie, with a goal of $8,000.

“Drevin was in a tragic and unexpected accident Wednesday June 17th, leaving Rhonda and Richie moving through a traumatic loss that no parent should have to endure,” the GoFundMe says. “Drevin touched the hearts of all he met through his wit and humor. A strong, independent soul who we hope is at peace and can rest easy now.”
