ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Mayor Tom McNamara joined WIFR’s First at Four Monday to reflect on Rockford’s America 250 celebration over the weekend and to share what he’s watching next, including plans for the Rock Yard.

McNamara called the weekend fantastic, pointing to strong performances and a packed parade.
On July 3, a free community concert featuring the Rockford Symphony Orchestra and local choir partners drew more than 1,000 people to the Coronado for a block party and a performance he described as beautiful and moving.
On July 4, the city held its parade and capped off the night with fireworks. McNamara also thanked the community partners who helped make both events possible again this year…
