ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A Rockford mother says the shock of losing her daughter hasn’t gone away, three years since her little girl was murdered.
“I’m still thinking she’s still here making breakfast. I’m still setting the table for four,” said Destiny’s mom, Dominique Gaines.
On July 8, 2023, Destiny Huggins, 10, was strangled to death by Antonio Monroe, a registered sex offender from Blue Island.
“I still have that shock feeling on my body from her passing and what I’ve gotten out of that is, Dominique, this is your new normal,” Gaines explained…
