ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford University is launching a new program to expand opportunities for nurses and address a nationwide shortage of skilled workers in the field. The university received a $77,000 grant to introduce the LPN to BSN program, which offers a unique pathway for Licensed Practical Nurses to advance their careers.
University leaders state that this program allows licensed practical nurses to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree without first obtaining an associate degree, a process they say is not available elsewhere in the area.
