ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Every day, thousands of drivers pass Veterans Memorial Circle at the roundabout where North Main Street meets Auburn Street. The bright flowers and manicured landscaping look effortless but they’re the result of daily volunteer work by the Friends of Veterans Memorial Circle.
This summer, the group’s biggest challenge wasn’t planting. It was keeping everything alive.
