Houseman is in as Janesville’s next city manager

It took the City of Janesville and the city council three weeks to make the announcement, but Rebecca Houseman, current city manager at Fort Atkinson, will be the city’s next manager. Houseman started her career in city government in an intern role at Janesville City Hall, and now returns years later as the city’s first female city manager.

Evansville is officially crushing it when it comes to new industrial development. Agriculture industry giant CHS announced Monday it’s committing to break ground in October on a $700-million soybean crushing facility that will produce millions of pounds of soybean meal and soybean seed oil a year, all shipped out to market on rail and by truck. It would employ 80 people and be a major, new local conduit for area soybean growers. It’s slated to open in fall 2028…
