ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Another beautiful day today with record breaking warmth. We set a record of 52 degrees today breaking the record by 3 degrees from 1973. Even with this warmth, it will still be a chilly night as clear skies allow our warmth to radiate back into the atmosphere and into space. This will bring temperatures back down to mid-20s for our overnight lows. We could also see fog develop overnight tonight. I think it will be on the patchier side as winds will be 5 to 10 mph, but any fog that does form could cause a few slick spots due to temperatures being below freezing.
