Janesville man arrested after bullet hole found in Craig High School door

JANESVILLE — A Janesville man has been arrested for allegedly shooting a bullet at a door at Craig High School.

Dalton D. Talley, 24, Janesville, was charged with criminal damage to property, possessing a firearm in a school zone and discharging a firearm in a school zone.

On Aug. 25 at about 12:15 p.m., damage was discovered to glass in an exterior door to the school, and it appeared as though a bullet struck the door, according to a statement released by the Janesville Police Department Friday.

An investigation led to Talley as a suspect, who was taken into custody Thursday night. Talley is being held at the Rock County Jail pending his initial court appearance.

The release does not state whether or not there was anyone in the school at the time of the incident.

There is no known threat to the school or community, the statement reads.
