Sandbag materials available for people in Beloit

BELOIT, Wis. (WMTV) – Sandbag materials are available for people who live in Beloit, in case of any flooding.

City of Beloit announced Thursday that sand and sandbags can be picked up at Telfer Park, at 2101 Cranston Road. People will need to bring their own shovels and make the bags themselves. Residents were asked to only take what they need.

This comes as the National Weather Service issued a flood warning for Turtle Creek in Beloit. Officials said the creek is at flood stage and may crest at 10 feet Thursday evening.

The agency specifically noted the homes along Moccasin Trail, Bootmaker Drive, East Ridge Road, Boulder Lane, Rockfence Lane and Arrowhead Road are areas of concern…
