River levels rise in Machesney Park, residents encouraged to take precautions

MACHESNEY PARK, Ill. (WIFR) – Residents are urged to take precautions as river levels rise and Machesney Park sees increased flooding.

As of 10 a.m., April 18, river gauge levels at Latham Road report that the Rock River is at 10.6 feet. Levels are expected to crest near 12.9 feet by 7 a.m. on Monday, April 20.

Residents living along the Rock River and low-lying areas should continuously monitor river levels and prepare for further flooding.

Some residences along Harbor Oaks Drive are threatened by 12.5 foot water levels…
