GoFundMe launched to help Freeport’s Royal Oaks recovery after storm

Royal Oaks Antiques & Collectables in Freeport, Illinois, has been condemned after a severe storm April 14 caused part of the building to collapse.

A GoFundMe has been launched to help with cleanup, repairs, and living expenses for owner Steve Schlamp and his household, according to a community announcement.

The store has been a fixture in the community for over a decade.

According to the announcement, Schlamp has owned and operated the store for 13 years. The front of the building collapsed during the storm, and the city has condemned the property, preventing Schlamp from entering to sell items or begin repairs…
