Roscoe residents connect with recovery resources after EF-1 tornado damage

ROSCOE, Ill. (WIFR) – Just one week after an EF-1 tornado caused damage across parts of Winnebago County, residents in Roscoe are now beginning the process of recovery with the help of dozens of organizations all in one place.

A Multi-Agency Resource Center, or MARC, was held Friday at Life Church, bringing together nearly 20 local, state and nonprofit agencies to assist those impacted by the twister.

“When you’re already traumatized, and you have maybe damage, you’re trying to clean up and all that, the last thing you need is to try to have to run around and find the different resources,” said Trish Burnett, executive director for American Red Cross Quad Cities & Northwest Illinois.

Inside the resource center, residents could speak directly with organizations offering support ranging from tree removal, insurance guidance, health services and pet services.
