Rockford man accused of killing 7-month-old baby boy

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A 27-year-old Rockford man faces charges in connection with the death of an infant, police say.

Jaden Hearns is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery to a child.

Around 8 a.m. April 26, officers report they were called to the 2400 block of Rose Avenue for an unresponsive 7-month-old boy. Police say the child was taken to a hospital where he died.

The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office determined the preliminary cause of death to be blunt force trauma of the head. Detectives identified Hearns as a suspect and report he was known to the victim…
