ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – It’s been a wet April across the stateline, as northern Illinois has seen several rounds of active weather. Since April 1st, Rockford has recorded 6.20″ in the rain gauge, giving us quite the surplus of more than 2.75″. Now that we’re entering into a stretch of drier weather, a lot of our creeks, streams, and rivers will get the chance to gradually recede. Heading into this evening, clouds will increase across the area keeping our skies mostly cloudy to overcast as a weak disturbance approaches the area. This will spark a few scattered showers across the stateline, especially after midnight. Precipitation should be rather light with totals less than .10″.
