Rock Valley College softball set to host Region 4 Tournament

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — The Rock Valley College softball team is ready to set out on another postseason journey. The Golden Eagles will host the NJCAA DII Region 4 Tournament this weekend.The Golden Eagles put together a spectacular regular season. They won 52 games and they lost only three. They finished the regular season with a 27-game winning streak and a number three ranking in the country.Hopes are high for RVC as the Golden Eagles now try to advance to the NJCAA D2 National Tournament. They are the #1 seed in the four-team regional which also includes McHenry Community College, Kankakee, and Moraine Valley.RVC will play McHenry in the opening game Friday at 10 am. Following that one at noon Kankakee will play Moraine Valley. The winners of the two games will turn around and play again Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. while the two losers will play at 2pm.On Saturday the action picks up again with a 10 a.m. game followed by a noon championship game. Depending on the outcome of that one, there could be a third game on Saturday at 2 p.m.to decide the championship.**All games will be played at Rockford University, not…..
