- Warmer next week, with showers returning
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – After a warm and stormy April, we’re ending the month on a cool and slightly drier note. Mostly cloudy skies combined with a northerly breeze, kept temperatures cooler than average today. This cooler pattern will continue over the next several days, before temperatures start to warm by early next week. Much of the cloud cover will gradually clear out tonight, along with lighter winds. This will allow temperatures to cool into the middle 30s, with the possibility of patchy frost to develop by early Thursday morning.
