ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Hard Rock Casino Rockford and city leaders, on Thursday, announced plans for a new hotel and convention center adjacent to the city’s casino, marking the next phase of development for one of the region’s fastest-growing entertainment destinations.
The proposal calls for a more than 200-room Hard Rock Hotel connected directly to the existing casino and entertainment complex. Plans include a full-service spa, fitness center and additional dining options designed to expand the property into a full resort-style destination.
An adjoining convention center would feature about 15,000 square feet of flexible event space for conventions, corporate meetings and social gatherings next to the Hard Rock Live entertainment venue.
“We’re doubling down on Rockford,” Geno Iafrate, president of Hard Rock Casino Rockford, said in a release. “This hotel and convention center cements our commitment to this community and its growing needs. Our belief is that this region is a destination that can compete at the highest level. We’re not going anywhere; instead, we’re defining and building what’s next in expanding our role as the premier entertainment destination in the region.”…
