JANESVILLE, Wis. — There will soon be a bit of a shakeup in downtown Janesville, but it’s all for a good cause.
The YMCA of Northern Rock County is buying the Boys & Girls Club of Janesville’s downtown space at 200 West Court Street, the nonprofits announced Tuesday. The $600,000 sale allows the YMCA to expand into the entire building. The move is part of the organization’s 135 & Beyond initiative, which will see the YMCA modernize its facilities, expand its programming and increase its access in celebration of the organization’s 135th anniversary next year.
“This is a meaningful and strategic step and exactly what our 135 & Beyond plan calls for,” YMCA of Northern Rock County president and CEO Angie Bolson said. “We still have work to do before we finalize exactly how the space will be used, but we are absolutely certain we will need it.”…
