JANESVILLE, Wis. — The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department on Thursday identified a man who died after a house fire in Janesville on Sunday.
The fire was reported at around 2 p.m. in the 400 block of South Locust Street. Crews used a ladder to rescue 69-year-old Eugene Stewart from the home.
Stewart was taken to Mercyhealth Hospital with life-threatening injuries and he later died. A forensic examination was completed Monday, but the cause and manner of his death was still pending as of Thursday morning…
