SYCAMORE, Ill. (WTVO) — Kevin Schmidt, 35, who is accused of killing his parents in Sycamore last September before fleeing to Rockford, where he was captured, has been found unfit to stand trial.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to perform a welfare check at a residence in the 1300 block of Oakland Drive around 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
