Crews battle 4-acre wildfire in Solano County early Monday

(KRON) — A vegetation fire in Solano County burned more than 4 acres early Monday morning, according to Cal Fire. Forward progress for the Herman Fire, off Lopes Road north of Benicia, was stopped at 1:52 a.m. by fire crews.

Two hand crews from Cal Fire, along with Fairfield, Benicia, American Canyon and Suisun City fire departments, responded to the blaze just before 1 a.m. The vegetation fire burned 4.29 acres, according to fire officials.

As of 6 a.m., the Herman Fire is 50% contained, Cal Fire said. Four engines and two dozers from Cal Fire were used in the response.
